The FAM's (Federal Air Marshals) use P226's in .357.
A distraught man from Florida was shot in Miami before his final
return flight to Orlando.
He was rushing off the plane, claimed that he had a bomb in his backpack,
pushed past the flight attendant, and was running up the hallway to the terminal
when the FAM dropped him DRT (dead right there).
It was later discovered that the deceased had some kind of nervous condition, but no bomb.
But when he claimed to have a bomb, he sealed his fate and the FAM had to 86 him.

So what kind of gun is it? Don't play coy with us!
You will be able to know who will talk to you here, and who won't, by what you own!
(I'm kidding).

"... that big hunk of metal on my right hip."
"...they only had .40."
I conclude from this that you don't know what kind of gun you have
but
it isn't a .40.
Correctamundo on both counts?? :-)
By the way, prior to my joining this forum was when I carried my pistol for the first time.
I had no awareness of the Wally Walk ritual.
The first place I ever carried in public was a junkyard in Fort Worth when I was looking for tires.
The junkyard people didn't "make" me - yay!!!
