Finally my status reads: "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active"
I guess the DPS folks were not just pulling my chain or telling me what I wanted to hear. I am from Houston but lived and worked in Bell, Travis and Harris Counties for the past 13 years. App sent on 3/16 to DPS.
There is a God!!!

UPDATE: So after being on day 150 + i placed another call to DPS. Although my online status has not changed from Procesing it has been sent for printing....wait for it...wait for it. They had to send it back bc it was printed incorrectly so it will be another few weeks for me.

So just got off the phone with DPS after encroaching upon day 150. Since May 15th my status has been "we are waiting on background check"....Surprise surprise the background check came back today....she indicated that was what they were waiting on but she seemed surprised it was back. She couldn't tell me when it was going to printing but indicated that was the next step. Probably a couple of weeks.

Today is offically day 117....I am Harris county so this is just par for the course. I'd complain but who would listen

My status was finally changed to processing this morning when i checked. I really hope the remainder goes off without a hitch.

I agree...i've stopped checking daily. My app was received by DPS around the 17th so i hopefully am anticipating a status change any day now....seeing some of the other folks who returned theirs at the same time is encouraging....of course being a Harris County resident I am leary.CDH wrote:So how long do you wait before you start rattling their cage?
I just checked today and my status is still "Packet mailed to app" and my return receipt from sending my packet in is dated March 10th!
I used the packet given out from the instructor for my submittal, paid online and sent in my receipt from that with the packet to show payment. I got the DPS packet (with PIN) a couple of days after I sent the instructor supplied packet off!
March 10th to April 24th and my online status is still not "processing".
This is frustrating...

General question about change in status:
Is there a strong likelihood because of the understaffing with the CHL division that your change in status (i.e. from Packet Mailed to App TO Processing App) could be reported much later than when the actual status changing. Just not sure how the updating mechanics work and even with technology I gather its not necessarily automated.
