Congratulations on your decision to preserve the 1911 handed down by your grandfather. I hope you can shoot it just often enough to keep it cleaned and lubed and see to it that it is in the same condition for your grandson. Teach him respect for a family heirloom, (and be sure snd save back some ammunition for them) and your grandson will still be able to hand down a perfectly designed handgun to his grandson.
