Re: Small Rifle Primers For Sale

I will take $200/5000

I am studying shipping regs and there may be a 'limited qty' loophole (similar to ORM-D) I can take advantage of...but local pickup is still preferred at this point.

Re: Small Rifle Primers For Sale

I would also consider a M1A in 308 or a freshly rebuilt Garand from a 'known shop' (there are several known for Garand work) in 308 (already have one in 30-06, that started this 'need' for a 308) for trades, and at that point my NIB Aero M5/AR308 receiver would be available for additional trade cred...

Re: Small Rifle Primers For Sale

Thanks for the offer. I am going to hold out for a parts swap for a few more days. I really want to get a better 30 cal than my Garand up and running in the current political climate and parts are hard to come by right now. I'll PM you if that doesn't work out.

Stock to action fit

I'm 'building' a hog rifle. The gunsmith is done with the metal work and now I'm opening up a standard bbl ADL stock to fit the heavy barrel newly installed. How low in the stock should the action sit? Right now it looks 'about right' to my eye but I only get about 1.5 threads engagement in the fron...

Re: Is New Frontier a good lower receiver??

The difference in cost between a NF poly lower and an entry level forged aluminum receiver is trivial. Stripped AL receivers are showing up again. IMO it just doesn't make sense to go cheap in this case.

Re: New to reloading

I buy Hodgdon Universal in 8 lb jugs for my 40 (and other calibers). I stick to 155 and 180 grain bullets, and the plated ones from Berry or Ranier work great for plinking and practice rounds. I also load light powder charges...usually about halfway between starting and max book charge. It cycles th...

Re: Never Skip Safety When Reloading

Primers make quite a pop don't they!?!?!? I sometimes get careless when running my reloading press and leave off the safety glasses...but priming is one thing I NEVER do without eye protection. They are the one thing I expect to try and hurt me someday while reloading.

Re: AR mag problem

Feed lips: gap at Rear ; Front ; overall length (from back of cartridge to start of taper at front edge) E-Lander .474 ; .490 ; .966 C-Prod (Al) .468 ; .471 ; 1.160 After poking and prodding, the slow (relatively) manual charging may be a culprit. I can push down on the back of a loaded cartridge an...

Re: AR mag problem

First, debates on 28 vs. 30 rounds are silly in this case. This is a practice mag being exercised to see if it works. It was empty when I arrived and left the range. It was loaded to 30 and run dry busting clays off the berm 3 times. Self defense mag loading is another subject for another thread... ...

AR mag problem

Well it only took 3 months to get the E-Lander mags from Mako. I left 5 in the bag and opened one for trial. It seemed to work fine. Then I decided to look harder. Mag loaded to a full 30 rounds. Insert into AR with bolt closed. Open and latch bolt. Observe round through ejection slot. what the heck...

WTT AR mags for AR upper parts

My goal is to build up a complete upper, either a 16" 223 or a 6.5 Grendel rifle. It's a bad time for that, so let's trade it out instead of working in a terrible market. Trade bait: One 60 round Surefire and ten 30 round C-Products aluminum 30 round AR mags. They are brand new, never used, sti...

Re: Senators seek back room deal on firearm background check

No more compromises. Why? I'm not nearly as good of a writer, so read this:

'nuff said. The current gun control laws need to be rolled back, not added to...
