I don't leave sunglasses in the car while at the shop, let alone my pistol. I would do something besides leaving it in the car.

Another thing to think about, if you have a bolted down, lockable safe in the car for storing a pistol, the shop you take the car to has tools and torches to take the safe loose. Not saying that the shop would or would not, just saying the tools are there.

Again, my $0.02 worth.
