Re: ammo on sale

It is nice to see Bachman's prices are getting reasonable, finally. I have paid more than I should have for .380 (when they had some) when I wanted to take the wife to the range. Gotta keep her happy! :txflag:

Re: ammo on sale

Just to let DFW area folks know, I stopped at Bachman Gun at lunch today and couldn't beleive all the ammo on the shelf. Tons of 9mm and .45. The .45 was Remington 230gr. in a green/yellow box for $21.99. When they have it, Dick's in Cedar Hill has .45 for about $20.00/50

There was a fair selection of the other calibers, except for the elusive .380. When I asked about .380, the guy said "Good Luck." :txflag:

Re: ammo on sale

I stopped at Academy in Lewisville this afternoon looking over the ammo selection. I was suprised to find a pretty good selection of ammo. Monarch brass FMJ in .45 for $19.00/box of 50, WWB in .45 for $23.00/box of 50. I didn't check the other prices, but they had plenty of 9mm and .40, but still no .380.

Plenty of handguns, also.

Re: ammo on sale

I found a good supply of Remington 230g FMJ .45 at Dick's Sporting goods in Cedar Hill this morning. They also had about 8-10 boxes of WWB .380. Both were $19.99 for a box of 50. I didn't take inventory of the other sizes, but they had a decent supply for a change. The guy behind the counter was shocked that they had as much as they did.

Re: ammo on sale

I was at Bachman Gun today and they had a good selection (but prices were high) for everything except .380, as usual. I went to DFW Gun Range with my sister-in-law to shoot after work and they had a good selection also. DFW did have some .380, but wanted to sell it to shoot at the range only.

So, if you are looking, these guys have some if you are willing to pay the price. Just trying to help. :txflag:

I certainly wasn't trying to insult you. I was just making light of the fact that it is marked up to double the price. That is possibly why they have so much of it. By the by...I bought two cases of 45 one case of 9mm and one case of 40 at wally world in April. I hear you though. I just don't have time to camp out at wally world either. But every now and then I get lucky just dropping by when near one.

The good news is that a distributor obviously has enough to start sending out cases of ammo to a local gun shop. This means Wally world will start getting more in also. Personally I think the worse of the ammo hording is coming to a conclusion and a month from now everyone will be dropping the prices down. i was at the Dallas Gun Show Sunday and it was like being in a Ghost Town. Good deals a plenty on stacks and stacks of AR15's. Ammo just sitting on tables not being bought due to over pricing. It was nice to see the free market slapping gun dealers around for a change.
I agree. I have been watching the prices on the auction sites as well. When they get to a few hours of the auction ending on ammo and have recieved no bids because of the same overpricing, it makes me feel better. I did buy a couple of boxes from auction sites because I couldn't find .380 for my new LCP and it was killing me not to shoot it. I had found .45 at Dick's in Cedar Hill, but someone else must have found it also, as they haven't had any handgun ammo for 2-3 months. Bachman Gun and Pawn has had .380, but charged $39.95 for a box of 50 FMJ, so the price at Ray's was still 25% better than at Bachman. Hopefully, in 6-8 weeks everyone will have hoarded up and stocked up and they will be some left for the rest of us at Wal Mart and Academy that only have time to buy, not shop the state in search of ammo.

That was the most ammo I've seen in one place in a long time. A little pricey, but available.
A "little" pricey? LOL...that is double the Walmart price.
How many "cases" of .45 have you seen at any Wal Mart in the last 6 months. I don't have time to hit all the Wal Marts in the DFW, so I have to buy it when I find it. :banghead:

Re: ammo on sale

If you want to pay the price Bachman Gun had a pretty good selection at 3:00pm today, including .380. I picked up 2 boxes of 50 rounds of Speer Lawman FMJ for $39.95 a box. I didn't want to pay that much, but I needed the ammo, also. Bachman Gun is on Northwest Highway at Webb's Chapel Road in Dallas.

Re: ammo on sale

I probably shouldn't, but I found a 50 round box of .380 FMJ at DFW Range on Mockingbird today. I paid $23 plus tax. I was suprised and happy. The guy behind the counter asked me if I had called and checked on .380. When I told him that I hadn't called, he said somebody was going to be upset! Hope they aren't reading this post!

According to what I've paid for some, your $19.00/box of 50 is a bargain!

Frustrated in D'ville!

then you know of the recall on the prefix 370-xxx
I highly suggest getting the pinky extension , makes if feel better when you hold it
Yes, my LCP is post recall, prefix 371-xxxxx.
I also picked up a new mag with the extension. It fits much better.
Can I buy just the extension base to put on the original mag?
