Re: Employee Handbook (EH)

It sounds like they are allowing CHL holders to carry at work. Good for them! My handbook says something like "Firearms on company property unless limited by state law" in the immediate dismissal section. Limited by state law could mean "if state law prohibits employers from restricti...

Re: Possibly a different approach?

I hope it goes well.

One of the Tyler health facilities has a city ordinance posted on the front door that clearly contradicts state law. I don't have a dog in that fight, but would like to see any such ordinances overturned.

Re: Open Carry In The News

I am supporting open carry. I may never actually OC but I would rather have the option than not.

Re: Pulled Over Outside of Texas?

Had a good experience in Arkansas. State Trooper walked up to passenger side (only window that doesn't roll down) and asked for license. Gave him license and CHL. He asked where it was. I said stong side hip and pointed. He asked me to take it off and leave it in the car as I join him in his car. He...

Longview Cancer Center 30.06 posted

Longview Cancer Center has a 30.06 sign posted down low to the right of the inside door going into the main waiting room. It is not on the outside doors or the busness office door. I don't think the South entrance is posted but I'm not sure it is unlocked either. I've walked through the door a dozen...

IANAL but I have an opinion. If a person is being attacked, and deadly force would be warranted if the attacker is a human, deadly force would also be warranted if the attacker is an animal. An animal attack is just as real as a human attack. If Deadly force is necessary, it is necessary. Why would ...

300,

I got CT laser grips for the same reason you describe. I don't have diabetes but I cannot focus on the front site with any of my corrective lenses.

I recommend them. They make a big difference.

I took a Berretta looking BB gun to Wal*Mart to get some replacement parts and a holster for my in-laws. I had to explain to the person at the door the difference between a BB gun and a real gun. They stuck a smiley face on it and I proceeded to sporting goods with it in open veiw. No one noticed it...

That's why I got a laser. I shot my renewal test not being able to focus on the sights with corrective lenses. Still shot 247 of 250 but that was shooting a paper target in a controlled environment. I hadn't noticed the problem when shooting outdoors in previous weeks. Flourescent lighting at the in...

I have a holster for my G36/23 mounted under the ash tray/cup holder so it is more accessible than the radio. It is secure from most of the situations LT mentions. I also have a P3AT on my person.

First off I would not break any laws. From what you have described there is no legal reason not to carry.

Then I would decide how important my job is to me. If you can't afford to lose your job, follow the rules. Of course Texas is an at will state, so you could lose your job anyway.

Thanks all.

I wouldn't think paid admission would be a factor. They charge admission amateur TaeKwonDo tournaments to cover expenses.

I was born in Germany. After having to fax my birth certificate to prove I'm not an alien the first time around, I automatically included it with the renewal forms.

My wife still has fun with the alien bit!
