I have a 1/8 twist Sabre Defense 16-inch barrel and it is scary accurate with everything from 55-grain to 69-grain and very accurate with 77-grain as well - will do 1/2 MOA with 55, just under 1 MOA with 69, and just over 1 MOA with 77-grainOldCannon wrote:Not a gimmick. 1:8 is actually an "ideal" twist rate for stabilizing all bullet weights. You just don't see them much until recently. Wilson Combat, Bravo Company, and Black Hole Weaponry make 1:8 barrels. I have two uppers in my shop made with 1:8 twist and I'm VERY impressed by them (Black Hole Weaponry barrels).1s1k52 wrote: I have decided on a 1:7 twist for sure or though I did until I read there is a 1:8 twist? gimmack? or worth a look?

Re: AR ideas?
What was price? Could be Legion Firearms out of Temple, but it would look "different" (cerakote, hexagonal barrel cuts) and be very expensive ($2,000 +)C-dub wrote:I don't see any on their website that start with "L." Could it have been one of those with the skulls on it from Black Rain Ordinance?1s1k52 wrote:Nah I would have recognized that

Re: AR ideas?
IMHO, this is best deal going right now on a basic AR carbine

1/9 twist barrel is only major quibble. But unless you plan a steady diet of heavy 77-grain bullets (works best with 1/7) then 1/9 will work fine and do well with 55- and 62-grain ammo and ok with up to 69-grain as well.
