Re: Good business card message
I agree with SlowDave with the exception about not making the effort. IMO this isn't about weither or not a business posts properly and putting 30.06 in place of the gun buster will not be as effective. You got to remember that the target here are people not very familar with CC and most will have n...

Re: Good business card message
I agree, I don't personally care for all the bullet points on the backside but do like the "No Gun signs turn law-abiding customers away while advertising a safe working enviroment to criminals!"

Good business card message
A retailer I recently did business with sent a few business style cards along with my order and thought they were great. They're Missouri specific... would love to have one done Texas specific. Here's a copy of the front and back of the card.

Re: February Applications
Finally in hand. Haven't had time to post until now. 107 days Did my Wally Walk yesterday. Wife wanted to know what I was up to since I was grinning the complete time we were in the store. LOL (she didn't know I was carrying) Told her after we left and she didn't believe me. Said she thought for sur...

Re: January Applicants
However, your application has been processed now and your license was mailed on June 3, 2009. I don't have plastic in hand yet, but I'm being patient. :grumble :txflag: I mail a lot of stuff across this great state of ours and it takes two/three days to get where its going.... five at the very most...

Re: February Applications
They must be busy today... on a Saturday to boot. Seeing lots of completed applications. Mine included.
That makes 101 days. I'm not quite ready to celebrate. I'll do that when I actually see this mystery license they talk about.

Re: February Applications
Day 90 and Harris County here. Called DPS and was told my background check was done. :thumbs2: She then told me they needed to finish processing it. :confused5 I asked her to clarify what "finish processing" meant. She said they had to recheck everything and then send it to manufacturer an...

Re: GATOR!
Very nice. Its amazing what some of those farm ponds have lurking.
A friend of mine took this one with a permit for his land last season. Not quite the monster of the OP but still not what you want to bump into while duck hunting.

Re: February Applications
Harris County - Day 82 - still processing. Being told the hold up is the background checks yet not a single person willing or capable of answering whats being done to correct the problem. DPS and our elected officials can tell us whats wrong until the cows come home and nothing will change. Someone ...

Re: Would it be wrong...
... If my sister's friend who I found out works for DPS in Austin rushed my application? Not saying that he could/would, but if he did, should I feel shame? :reddevil Only you can answer that question. OTOH, if I was your sister, I'd tell you to go pound sand for asking to put my "frien...

Re: February Applications
I am on Day 79 since my application was received in Austin. I can't even get a response to emails I have sent to DPS. This is the slowest process I have ever seen for a background check and also the most expensive. I only paid 132.00 for a complete Federal Background check, for a job and I received...

Re: April 2009 Applications
Its not a loop hole. You do not need to know who the director's designee is to determine when it was received. Whoever receives it at DPS is the designee. If you sent in your application with signature required or proof of delivery you have all you need to show/prove when it was received. The time i...

Re: February Applications
I too got a call from a very nice lady by the name of Melinda Driscoll with the CHL department in Austin. I'm not sure if it was in response to my email to my Rep or not as my Reps (Mike Jackson) only response to me was a form letter saying if I wanted a written response I needed to snail mail him. ...

Biometric/Fingerprint safes
Any one have one? Pros and cons?
Want to add a safe to the vehicle and can see some merit if they are reliable.
