Re: NRA Instructor Course

My understanding is that .22's aren't allowed for the NRA Instructor qualifications. Supposed to be 9mm/38 or bigger. Nope, you can use a .22, it's fine. http://www.wcwinc.org/club/firearmsedforms/Pre-Course%20Assessment-Pistol-NRA-Std.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Th...

Re: NRA Instructor Course

My Basic Pistol Instructor course was in Gatesville - had a couple of folks from Fort Hood, a couple of current LEO's, and a couple of guys who had done private military gigs in the past, and a couple of us clearly civilian types. One guy had trouble qualifying with his .45. I lent him my Berreta ....

Re: HB 2756 Open Carry bill reported favorably

What is the need for free speech? People say some pretty shocking things, should we regulate that as well? Also if the challenge is to show statistical evidence that open carry deters crime, I would put the same challenge to you about concealed carry. I think rights outweigh feelings, and that I ca...

Re: HB 2756 Open Carry bill reported favorably

I fail to see how CA gun laws are better than TX laws. Open carry really isn't open carry in CA. Not being able to carry a loaded gun anyplace you can't legally discharge it isn't open carry in my book. The bottom is a link to CA laws and all the restrictions that they place on firearms. I will take...

Re: HB 2756 Open Carry bill reported favorably

Mr. Cotton, Thank you for your long explaination. I agree that the current bill Lavender has introduced could very well limit CHL holders rights instead of expand them. I never heard it during Lavenders campaign, but I am told from others that this was something he promised he would do if elected. B...

Re: Student's Application for CHL Terminated after 90 days?

Government bureaucracy at its worst -- insulated, arrogant, and no sense whatsoever of the meaning of "customer". That is why I support having CHL's issued at the county sheriff level. Control at the local government level with an elected official accountable to voters can and should be m...

Re: April 11th class - Anyone going?

If the lady from the legal team thinks if a group of school kids comes in Kroger you're in violation of the law, well, I really won't post what I think about her. It would be interesting for her to explain how she gets that out of any statutes that are on the books for Texas. In section 46.035 that ...

Re: After Class Evaluation sheet.

I can only assume that you deleted some of the posts in this thread. I guess I didn't think about putting a range evaluation in my set of questions. There are a few times were we finished up at the range and they had previously done their course evaluation. But I may need to look at it for future cl...

Re: the unthinkable - what are your preps?

They don't get to play with real guns in my class. I might handle a real gun but no one in the class gets to outside of the range. They make wonderful plastic demonstrator guns for the classroom, I have 4 that I use, a Glock, Sig, Berretta 92, and J frame all for demonstration purposes. I make them ...

Re: Affidavit Notary Rejection?

It is an ink stamp. They didn't like the layout of the stamp apparently. So we will go back to Staples, and give them a printout of what the requirements are from the Sec. of State and see if they will make a new one for her. I am sure we will get to pay for it again. Thing is she has been using thi...
