@ dicion - Couldn't see it because it was posted too high above the bar. They didn't not show it to me, but the bartender didn't know where it was and the owner was irritated that I asked. There's another place in town like this. The restaurant and bars have different owners and separate licenses or something. So, according to them, they are allowed to post the 51% sign. I think that a blue sign needs to be posted at the entry to the restaurant and a red sign should go on to door to the bar.
I also think it might be shady that they have two owners and can get away with that. How does that work? If you order a beer at dinner then the bar sells to the restaurant and the restaurant sells to you? I don't get a separate ticket, and even in the bar my credit card slip looks exactly the same as the restaurant.
But I don't think I'll be going back to their bar anyway. It had an air of high school about it. Very cliquey, too young, not my type of people. And the owner was a jerk about me asking to see the license.

Re: May 2009 Applications
I guess if you consider the post office, it took right at 90 days. May 2nd to Aug. 7th. (Technically, they put it in the mail Monday).joe817 wrote:Super congrats Tankueray!! That's got to be one of the shorter processing times I've seen......about 98 days or so.
I did my "Academy Walk", I was really freaked out. Went into two restaurants, one I think has an improper 51% sign. It's crazy how defensive they get when you ask to see their liquor license.

Re: May 2009 Applications
Got it on Friday! Just happened to be a gun show in Abilene on Saturday. I didn't find anything I liked, but I picked up a little .22 deringer at a pawn shop. Did my "Academy Walk" today. Didn't have any reason to go to Wal-Mart. I was terrified, i thought for some reason that the theft prevention devices would ring when I passed through. (I know better, but I was just paranoid).Tankueray wrote:Woo Hoo!!!!

Went to a restaurant, didn't carry because there was the possibility I might drink. Walked into another restaurant later and I think they have an improperly posted 51% sign.
Is there an "etiquette" post about going into places?

May 2009 Applications
Okay, I sent in my packet today. We'll call it May because they probably won't receive it until Monday. Did anyone else notice that the PO BOX is different (and a different post office) when you do it online vs. traditional? Apparently it doesn't make a difference, as they all get to the Austin office and are processed by the mail room to the same mail code. Anyway, I've got some time on my hands. Guess I can call some congress critters on that parking lot bill. (As my employer forbids carry in lot, I live 1/2 hour away and often stay in the "big city" until late at night.) Yet, other employees near the border are asking for bulletproof vests from the safety manager because they're getting shot at. OMG, allow them to shoot back!
