Re: House CD-22 endorsements

In the for what it’s worth category I am voting for Sheriff Troy Nehls. As President of our HOA I have had a couple of occasions to deal with him directly. I can tell you both occasions he struck me as a man of his word. He didn’t promise anything he couldn’t or didn’t deliver. He was up front and ...

Re: Woman killed by FT Worth PD officer

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhsyCwzCLaY Somebody got the video of Aaron Dean's hiring interview and put this video together. He said he likes action and adventure, wishes he joined the military and see being a police officer as a way to do some of the same things without having to go overseas. I...

Re: Bonnen must go

I donated some funds to Rhonda Seth.

In one of the FB groups I'm in someone in the campaign stated there is a goal that if they can get 350 people to donate $300 each she would have a bit over $100k to start off her campaign with.

Re: Possible New Suppressor Bill HB 2286

ATF regs would still apply, no matter what law a state passes. Regulation of suppressors still falls under federal jurisdiction, and if the feds say you have to wait for a tax stamp, then you have to wait, and you still have to pay the fee. The fastest way to get a suppressor remains filing a form ...

Re: Possible New Suppressor Bill HB 2286

It looks like it is just waiting for the first hearing in the Senate. I’m not sure if it’s a dead bill just yet. The session is over its dead. It was killed by the Republican chairwoman, Joan Huffman, because she choose not to give it a hearing. She also killed or neutered a few other pro-liberty b...

Looks like Birdwell was responsible for the stupid amendment if I'm reading this right.

Re: HB 2363 - Firearms in Foster Homes

Wow, that's garbage. Do we know who was responsible for this mess? Was it Huffman, she ruined a few other bills too.

If I were still fostering and wanting to follow the letter of the law I'd just stick with a gun in a quick access safe and magazine on the table of the locked bedroom for the night.

Re: The importance of Pre-existing Knowledge for SD

And, yet again, just something else to make me even more cynical about our so-called "justice" system, which is biased toward violent criminals. DAs and ADAs who consider good people with clean records to be guilty until they can prove they are innocent, while bending over backwards to le...

Re: The importance of Pre-existing Knowledge for SD

In our legal system the burden of proof is not supposed to be on the accused, the burden of proof is on the prosecution to prove every element of the crime.

Looks like another news article on this came out.

https://www.click2houston.com/news/...e ... affic-stop

DA's office changed their mind and are now charging the driver with a Class A misdemeanor for having the gun in "plain view."

I wonder what it says about our legal and political system when the Rangers are sent to investigate a case like this but not the murder of Dennis Tuttle and Rhogena Nicholas.

Well all gun laws are infringements so this seems reasonable. I wish the DA would be consistent and throw out any gun charges but somehow I'm skeptical.

Re: Speaker Bonnen sued in Federal Court for 1st amendment violations, blocking critics on Facebook

Perhaps not, but often in a debate the point isn't to win over the person you are debating but to win over the people who might be watching. In the presidential debates Trump didn't win over Hillary, but he sure as hell won over others. Being able to criticize Bonnen and others like him won't win h...

Re: Speaker Bonnen sued in Federal Court for 1st amendment violations, blocking critics on Facebook

All of you older guys spouting “but it is only Facebook” are extremely and insanely naive. You are projecting your own dislike of social media onto everyone. Anyone who remotely understands the concept of “winning hearts and minds” sees Facebook for the incredibly important cyber battlefield that i...
