Re: First LEO encounter – Young County
retredleg - I am just curious, nothing more - are retired dog tags different then active ones? Glad your stop went well. I never heard of retired dog tags. Doesn't mean they don't exist, just that I have never heard of them. Very funny... and good point. After I wrote that I figured how dorky it so...

First LEO encounter – Young County
My wife & I were on our way to Wildcatter Ranch Resort (just outside Graham in Young County) for the weekend on Saturday, 10/17/09 when I was pulled over by a Deputy Sheriff on Hwy 16 around 9pm. I was cruising between 65-70mph (speed limit was 65 at night) so I was a little surprised when I saw...

Re: May 2009 Applications
Still no plastic in the mail! My status changed on 9/2/09 so with the holiday I thought it might arrive today. WRONG! Maybe tomorrow. This reminds me of waiting for my DEROS (Date Eligible to Return from Overseas Service) date to come so I could home. :patriot: The last few days always seemed to dra...

Re: May 2009 Applications
Well, I called again. Their system was back up today. The lady told me that mine "has been sent to the manufacturer to print. You should see it in 2 weeks". Ohh kay. I suppose I'm back to the old two week wait AGAIN! Hey, at least I know it's there and this SHOULD be the last two week wait...

Re: May 2009 Applications
I just got off of the phone with a lady from the DPS CHL department and she said that mine is being printed and that if it was in the next batch to come in from the manufacturer that I should have it in two weeks. I'm not sure what that means but, I'm starting to think they are just telling people ...

Re: May 2009 Applications
My 90 day mark was 8/11/09 so I called today and was fortunate enough to speak with a very nice lady there. I asked "I'd like to find out what is the problem with my application" - instead of my usual "can you tell me the status of my application". After verifying who I was, she ...

Newbie here from N. FW
Hello to all. Joined the forum couple weeks ago and have learned a lot from you guys already. Took my CHL Class 5/4/09 and mailed off my packet this morning (I'm in the waiting room now). I'm retired Army ('98 - Field Artillery) and currently work in Grapevine, TX at a Honda motorcycle dealership. L...
