Re: October Applications

In short- wreck less driving (in most cases) IS considered a class B misd. & people have been denied for that before cause they thought it was a class C, being that's what they were told at the time.

Re: October Applications

Reckless driving is considered a class b here in Texas. I'm taking a guess you got this out if state? If so, it doesn't matter if they called it a class C or not, you'll prob get denied. It's similar to "disorderly conduct", which is also a class C. A person cannot have a disorderly conduct charge in the previous 5 years (class C or not). The wreck less driving charge is the same thing. I have known others who have been denied for the exact same thing. Also, there are certain charges one might get out of state & be classified a certain way, but Texas may see those same charges as a higher grade of misdemeanor. Just giving you some facts & my experience of others on this forum be denied for same scenario.

Re: October Applications

Based on your timeline, it's very normal for you not to see a status update yet. You're wasting your time calling/emailing. They can't send something saying they're swamped cause of politics. Trust me you're too early & won't see a status update until Jan. They're entering stuff from 1st/2nd week of October. Your email is a canned response, you don't skip ahead of mailed in apps (usually), they file you docs with the mailed ones.. Basically, I would relax & Mark your calendar to call them mid-Jan.

Re: October Applications

No, the instructor does not need to send in anything. Keep in mind DPS is very swamped, It's normal for your status not to change for a long time. They are pretty much entering apps from 1st few days of Oct. Basically, in plain English- your status doesn't change until someone physically touches your CHL-100 & enters the data from it into their computer system. So, for example if some certified mailed or emailed or faxed their docs, it's not gonna change the online status until the manual process happens, which again they're on 1st week of October.

Re: October Applications

Right now it takes over a full month for the status change, whether you mailed certified or not.

Re: October Applications

It takes over a month before the DPS website status changes, you guys are looking at November sometime to see a change in status.. Not sure why anyone is still mailing their documents though. You can email and/or fax them to DPS. If you live in Austin area, you can drop them at their building in person too.
