I want to echo everyone that has recommended the longer "tall" size shirts. Without this I sometimes have gone with shirts two sizes larger, but with the tall shirts I can go with shirts only one size larger than I would normally wear and now and then the same size that I would normally wear. I also like denim shirts. I know they are a bit heavy, but that usually keeps the wind from playing with it too much. To cut down on heat I might wear sleeveless shirts underneath.

As far as the wallet issue goes that's not as big a problem for me. Even though I carry at about 4 o'clock with wallet in left rear my spares are on the left. If I don't move them slightly forward to gain access I will simply put my wallet in the breast pocket of my shirt. If I'm wearing a jacket it goes in one of the jacket pockets. I also find this allows easier access when going through dive-thru's instead of trying to dig it out of a pocket I'm sitting on.
