Come to Shootsmart and I'll let you shoot it. Then you can tell me for sure. :patriot:
I might have to do that sometime just to meet and check out Shootsmart. I have my own and it works great. If yours works like most all Glocks, you got a GREAT deal! I carry mine all the time I carry now. The G21SF has it's place on the nightstand.

Southlake wrote:Went to the range today to pick up my new Glock 21 Gen 4 (I traded a Sig P238) for it. While I was standing at the counter the owner comes up to me and says, hey Jim, you really need this brand new Glock 30sf to go along with your new 21. I told him $489 was a good price but I could wait for the Gen 4. He said how about $389? I told him if I were to buy the Glock 30 sf for $389, he would have to sell me a 1,000 round case of Federal 230 FMJ for $300. He said, okay. Is today my birthday? :cheers2:
A new G30SF for $389? Something doesn't smell right. That's a GREAT deal. Something I would be wary of.

That isn't really as funny as it is odd. I'm not interested in finding out what it sounds like without hearing protection until I have to. Although, from what many have said, your hearing tends to kind of shut off during a stressful even like a defensive shooting.

It seems to me the hollow point would handle anything.
It is just somebody way over thinking the possibilities. Just like many thoughts on the Aurora shooting. Many were convinced that since he was armored up the only shot that would stop him was to the face. Not necessarily true. That might have been the only shot that would have killed him, but hit him with any defensive round COM and you will get his attention. Hit him with multiple rounds and he will probably hit the deck or disoriented enough to be tackled. So, my unprofessional and humble opinion is to load up with the JHP of your choice, keep one in the chamber, put it in the holster, cover it up, and leave it alone until needed.

never had ammo issues with my 21sf or my 9mm glocks
:iagree:

Andas far as penetration goes, the .40 typically has deeper penetration than the .45ACP. However, the .45ACP has a bigger wound channel. I would be more worried about over penetration with the .40 more than the .45 and I think the 9mm has penetration rates closer to the .40 than the .45.
