Re: Texas State Fair CHL Question

I haven't been this year yet and am not sure we're going. In past years, the only person that I show my license to is the LEO. No one else needs to see it. I just ask or say that I need to speak to the officer. I don't even say why I need to speak to them and just hand the officer my license when I get to them.

Yup. I told my friend that I knew some WAY better instructors if he'd like any references so he could retake the class and get correct information. I also referred him to this forum.

Re: Texas State Fair CHL Question

I have a little more info on what my friend's friend was told. He said it was his CHL instructor and someone from [Pre-paid legal service] that told them in class that this is how it would be done if they went to the fair. :banghead:

Stay home. Put your feet up. Eat healthy?
I wish. Just about the only reason I have ever gone is to get a look at all the different models of cars in one place and if my daughter wants to go with a friend or two. We have yet to hear that request so far this year.

Outnumbered wrote:I went today- no armband, sash, or tiara required. Simple process. I walked up to the people with the wands and showed my CHL. She didn't even look up, so I brought it to her attention. She said she was new, and I told her I would need to speak to the police officer who was up in a stand about 3 steps away. The lady next to her explained to her that for CHLs she needed to send them to the officer. He looked at it briefly and waved us through.
That's what I figured. I'll tell my friend that his friend's lawyer is an idiot.

Re: Texas State Fair CHL Question

Has anyone been to the fair yet this year? Any new policies?

A friend of mine told me that another friend of his told him that a lawyer told him (seriously, lol) that they were going to make CHLs wear an armband so the police could easily identify and know who the CHLs were. I told him I thought that was a bunch of junk and I wouldn't allow that if they tried it with me for soooo many reasons.
