Re: Now I understand 'Have a Conversation'
His reply was something between a grunt and a funny sound meaning nothing, stuck his nose up in the air, spun about and retreated. Not absolutely sure, but I do not believe he drives a Prius, although he has the attitude to drive one.

Now I understand 'Have a Conversation'
I have a new neighbor, that seems stand-off-ish, and does not respond to casual waves when I see him. I was finishing some front yard maintenance yesterday when he drove into his driveway. He approached me and in a somewhat snotty tone said that we needed to 'have a conversation'. I told him to have...

Re: Hollywood: Home of the not Brave
Please keep in mind that Sony is NOT an American company. It is a Japanese company, with offices in our country in order to make money. Please take a look at the history between Japan and N. Korea, as well as N. Koreas backer, China. This might change how this story is perceived if our media looked ...

Re: Terrible murder you may not know about
I was in my office one morning just after 9:00 AM when a loud explosion that shook my windows so bad I quickly turned to see if I could see anything. I saw a large cloud of smoke and dust rising about five miles to the South. I turned my radio on to see if anything was being broadcast and got the ne...

Re: Quick access gun safe ?
This what I am giving my SIL for Christmas this year. I shopped a long time, and bought based on positive reviews instead of price. If you need quick access, you want it to be dependable. This would not be the time to have less that the best your could afford.

Re: Buying silver
So far, Provident works well for me. As to shapes and sizes, I tend to stay with 1 oz. rounds, in a pattern that closely resembles US coinage. If a problem arises, and we pray it does not, if you were traveling it would be much easier to barter with smaller and more familiar denominations. I can onl...

Re: Rifle Benchrest Equipment
Ditto to Skiprr. I also bought two of the ten round mags at Academy, specifically for this purpose. Made initial sighting in much more comfortable. I also bought on of the inexpensive (about $25.00) bench rests. Yes, it is made of plastic, but the center section opens it leaves plenty of room to add...

Re: Police being investigated for playing "Sweet Home Alabam
I don't think the comment 'last one out of Chicago turn off the lights' is correct.
At the rate they are going, their power grid will probably fail first, leaving them all in the dark (the same way they are now intellectually).

Re: I remember visiting Matamoros years ago.
In reference to the 'extortion' part, I made the decision to never again take my vehicle into Mexico when the local 'cops/crooks' started carrying pliers and screwdrivers as part of their uniforms. See any USA plate, pull it off the vehicle. Keep it with you until someone calls it in, go and sell it...

Not really sure where one could go before 5:00 AM to buy a shotgun and ammo.

Re: Another SA accidental shooting
Sure sounds accidental to me. If I were to try to teach someone to 'shoot', I would also show up at their home at 5:00 AM with a loaded shotgun.
I suppose this would be more convenient than waiting for a range to open, or to maybe not have people sleeping inside the house at the time.

Re: Cedar Hill couple reeling months after shooting intruder
It is my opinion that Carlson1 nailed it.
I cannot think of any person I know that would want to kill an intruder, but I also cannot think any of them would hesitate to do what was needed to protect his or her family.
While I understand the mayors statement, he is still a weasel.

Re: I remember visiting Matamoros years ago.
Times have really changed, but not for the better. Back in the late to mid 70's I was transferred to El Paso from Phoenix to open a new office. Many times my wife and I took our two boys to Juarez for dinner. Drive right across the river (cost .02 each), valet park at a decent restaurant. We could a...

Re: "Lone Wolf" terror: ordinary armed citizens
I agree with Megan Kelly that these are not 'lone wolves', but are 'lone nut cases'.
A lone wolf has usually been banned from the pack, and that may apply, but I much prefer to refer to them as lone nut cases.
Just my opinion...
