Well there's Colt(revolvers & semi-autos-some of the best), S&W(arguably the best revolvers in the world..they make semi-autos but many recalls), Ruger(very good BIG revolvers in BIG calibers, great affordable automatics) - I have a P-95 semi-auto in 9mm..I'd trust it in a heart beat...digests every type of ammo I've put down the tube. Their semi-autos most affordable of them all. Made in Prescott, AZ.

I don't know much about the 1911 clones(Kimber, Les Bauer and others) but for the price their asking I'd have to assume they are top of the line products.
