Great suggestion Mike. Take it one step further by calling them at 8:30am(they open at 9), and ask if they have the ammo in stock you are looking for. Calling them at that time, is when they actually HAVE the time to visit with you. That way, you can get there before the door opens, and have a chance of getting what you need.mike_g26 wrote:If you have an Academy local to you try them at around 10AM-noon on Friday's. Since I started foraging for ammo in mid April, I've only seen 2 boxes of .380...2! That was 2 weeks ago at the shooting range at Winchester Gallery in Ft. Worth. $37.95/box. That seems to be the most scarcest caliber of them all.
If I had a gun in that caliber, I'd definitely order it online, and expect a pretty long back order time, forget about it, and continue scouting for it on my own.
