The Marines standing guard at the Marine Barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, could not stop the suicide bomber who blew up the barracks because they were standing guard with no cartridges in their weapons, in a city with thousands of terrorists. So, the answer to that question is, pretty damn dumb.
