Re: Colt Gold Cup Trophy

Gold Cups are supposed to be one of the nicer lines of 1911's from Colt. They hold their value well too. There just something about owning a 1911 from the original manufacturer.

Re: baggage gun on airlines

Wow I would never lock my firearm with a cheap TSA lock. I've always used a traditional padlock with my pelican case. I've been asked a handful of times to open cases so TSA could check it. I've also been asked once or twice by the ticketing agent to prove it was unloaded while I was at the ticket c...

That's a wonderful shotgun at a nice price. I hope it finds a good home. It looks immaculate in those photos too.

BTW how long is the barrel, I assume it's a 30"?

Re: POE video camera home system tips

I have an old Panasonic pan and tilt 640x480 IP cam I've been meaning to upgrade to HD. Just like to keep an eye on the pets when I am away. I'll have a look at some of these names that were mentioned here. Are there any particular reasonably priced HD pan and tilt IP cams or should I just stick wit...

Re: Purchasing a handgun.

A few years ago during a cool day I was on my motorcycle and had a neoprene mask on to help block the cold wind. I stopped for fuel and while fueling, I thought I would get a small coffee to warm up a little. I walked into the store to get my coffee, walked up to the counter to pay, reached back fo...

Re: Delta Grip for J frame revolvers

I have a S&W 642 which I think is the same as pictured above. With the stock factory grip these little beauties have some pretty potent recoil. It would really bruise the webbing muscle between my thumb and fore finger. I switched to a Hogue Monogrip. It covers the backstrap completely which th...

Re: So...I got pulled over......

One time I was driving back from a buddies place and was pulled over twice for a broken headlight, once in Friendswood and once in Pearland. I guess because it was pretty late and I was the only one on 518. My buddy coincidentally was a police officer himself, so technically that was three LEO encou...

Re: Can't carry TWO guns

When I took my CHL class many years ago our instructor specifically brought up the fact that Texas law allows you to carry as many pistols as you could conceal. I figured a backup gun wouldn't be a bad idea, but 7, wow! I've heard a backup gun called a New York reload, but what do you call the 6th b...

I'm speechless how stupid that "prank" was. Lucky no one was hurt.

Re: 1911 suggestions in $500-$700 range??

Done. Bought the Springfield 1911 milSpec . Already been to the range. Love it. Wife loves it too. Thanks everyone for the help. Great choice. I was recently asking a local gunsmith, Teddy Jacobson, what 1911 he recommend and he said Milspec from Springfield. Get some quality magazines and it will ...

Re: Shotgun friendly ranges near West Houston?

Shame to hear American Shooting Center is closed again due to the rain. If you are looking for an outdoor shotgun range and don't mind driving north of Houston, Creekwood Shooting Sports in Conroe has Skeet, Trap, 5-Stand, and Sporting Clays. Facilities are nice and modern. They also have a pistol r...

Interesting grips. I might give them a try. Currently use the factory boot grips on my snub nose.

Re: G19 Gen 2 with Crimson Trace Light Guard?

You may just want to call or email Crimson Trace for their opinion. I suspect they'll tell you it's not officially supported on a Gen 2 Glock.

I'm sure you can make it fit with some cleaver gunsmithing, but the real question is whether you will trust it in that condition.

Re: Glock Magazines

Most Glock models will have the magazines base plate slightly protruding from the the grip. Just how it is. The only models with truly flush magazines are the sub compacts like the Glock 26 or 43.

Re: Makarov 9 mm

The Makarov is a good gun. Mine has been very reliable. The recoil on it is mild and I find it a joy to shoot for such a small pistol, especially after I replaced the grips on it. The stock plastic grips with the star emblem are a bit cheap. It's almost small enough and light enough to pocket carry,...
