Dipstick cop filed a bogus report on him and jhutto knew nothing about it because he didn't report the dipstick cop.

Yes, I read the entire thing. I would like to hear the same story told by "dipstick" before I pass judgment on him... And yes, in hindsight the OP should have followed up with the PD on this incident.

If we want to get a warning when we mess up, why wouldn't we want police to get a warning when they mess up?

I see a difference between giving a warning and "reporting anything and everything" to "keep them in line".

If he's out of line, it needs to be reported. In this case, it really seems the officer was out of line.

I don't know. I have bits and pieces of one side of the story. As we all know there is more than one side to every story.

I don't dissagree that if a cop does something wrong it should be addressed, but this particular statement bothers me. I know I would personally be cited daily for some infraction if anything and everythin I did was reported...
