Thanks again for all of the suggestions. For now, I've settled on my Kel-Tec in my center jersey pocket in a pocket holster with a bandana folded over it to make it less obvious and provide a little protection from sweat. So far, it seems to work out pretty good. After a little practice, I can access it pretty quickly.

I was on a ride Tuesday when I had a situation that made me a bit uncomfortable. Most of the time, I ride a tandem towing a trail-a-bike with my two sons on the back (ages 8 and 6). As we were headed up a pretty steep hill, a car passed us and then slowed down as soon as it was in front of us. We were on a lightly traveled road (no houses on this stretch), but only a couple of minutes from a very populated area. As the car slowed down, I started to think about options. The car eventually stopped about 30 yards ahead of us. I stopped as soon as I could so that I could determine their intentions while there was still some distance between us. The passenger in the car stuck his head out the window (but kept the door closed) and yelled back that he needed to talk to me. I could see that there were three guys in the car, and they all appeared to be in their 20's. I told him (politely) that he could go ahead and talk from there. He then asked if I had seen anyone laying around while I was riding. I thought this seemed very odd, but I went ahead and answered that I had not. He said okay and they drove on down the road.

We continued on after they were a good ways down the road, and I didn't see them again. I just thought I would pass this along -- I thought it was a very strange encounter.

Thanks for the outstanding suggestions.

Dave -- I had not thought of a belt under the jersey. Do you use a normal leather belt?

Bicycle Carry

Now that it's getting warmer and it's light later in the evening, my sons and I are starting to get some bike rides in. I've had my CHL since the middle of last summer, but I haven't carried on the bike yet. I guess you could say that I've progressed from initially carrying when it was convenient to now carrying everywhere I legally can.

Anyway -- does anyone have any experience with carrying while riding a bicycle? Let me also mention that when I ride, I wear the real cycling stuff -- shorts, jersey, etc. Because of that, I can't use any of my normal holsters. The ideas I've had are to carry my little .32 in its rectangular nylon zip case in my back jersey pocket (center pocket) or possibly get something that will attach to the top tube of the bike (I ride a road bike).

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!
