Extended Thumb Safety

Can someone recommend a good gun shop in the Dallas area that can install an extended thumb safety on a 1911?

Dicks Last Resort - Dallas - 30.06?

Anyone know if Dick's Last Resort in the Dallas West End is 30.06 posted? I have checked their website and there is little information other than their locations and menus.

CNBC Examines the AR-15

I apologize if I missed a post on this: Tonight (4-29) at 8pm on CNBC is a one hour special titled " America's Gun - The Rise of the AR-15". It should be interesting viewing to see how accurate or inaccurate the reporting is.

Re: C-SPAN v. cable news summaries of Senate hearings

I wish that Lindsay Graham had asked that police chief who was so adamant about limiting magazines to 10 rounds a couple of questions: 1- Chief, what capacity magazine do you carry? 2- Chief, can you elaborate on why you need a magazine capacity of more than 10 rounds while you say that the average ...

Re: Gun Show Re-loads- Kaboom!!!!

I've bought some ammo in the past from individuals who as they put it, load new. New casings, etc. I've had good luck so far. However, I just bought some of these "new" loads from a different company. After seeing these photos I have concerns. What is the consensus on these type of loads?

Re: +P+ Ammo

I was given three boxes of the +P+ and was wanting to use it if I could. If not i'll sell or trade it for something I can use.

+P+ Ammo

I just bought a Taurus Protector Poly 357 and upon reading the owners manual saw that Taurus does not recommend the use of +P+ ammo in it. I was wondering that since it is a 357 Could it handle 38 Special +P+ ammo? I can see if it was a 38 that +P+ might be too stout a load But as a 357 it is constr...

WTT 38 Special +P+

I have three boxes of Federal Premium 38 Special High Velocity +P+ that I would like to trade. Would prefer .357 magnum, but would consider other calibers..

Re: Business response to gun control frenzy

I was in Academy Sporting Goods in Mesquite this morning. No ARs of any type on the shelf. Some guy next to me asked where they were. The sales clerk said that they had been told to pull them from display. Looks like they have joined Dick's.

Re: Academy today!!

Just this last Thursday I stood in a gun store looking to buy my first AR. I remember telling the salesman that as sure as I didn't buy it, I'd turn on the TV tomorrow and see a call for banning them. So I bought it and went home not knowing that my words had truth in them. Friday night I saw some o...

Re: what agency is this car from

I would suggest that this was some local agency such as Sheriff Office or PD. DPS supervisor cars have dash/windshield mounted LED or strobe lights not grill lights. Also normally have just one police radio antenna on the center of the trunk. A good way to know that it's DPS - look for an antenna th...

Re: New Range in Mesquite

I've shot there twice. Very nice clean and well lit range with courteous staff. My one complaint is the AC, there are vents at each lane that blow nice cool air directly under them, but when you step forward to shoot, even though it's just a few feet , it's hot. I left both times drenched in sweat. ...

LC9 Holster recommendation

I recently purchased an LC9 and wanted an IWB holster for it. I found a very nice leather holster with spare mag holder made by Kusiak Leather. The quality of the leather and workmanship is excellent. The belt clip is very strong and holds well to the belt. They make holsters for several smaller pis...
