I hope it stands up in appeals. If it does stand I hope he will come clean on the full telling of what occurred to put the whole tragic episode into motion in the first place.

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
I have no sympathy for this slug of a human being. There are more people involved who are responsible for putting the raid, which was retaliatory, in motion. I hope the whole truth comes out.philip964 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 5:48 pm https://www.yahoo.com/news/trial-openin ... 25041.html
Trial for the former police officer has started.
This says that the homeowner shot four of the officers.
This is the first time that has come out. I had suspected that all were shot by friendly fire.

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
Based on what I know about this case I'd love to re-title it, but it would violate forum rules and decorum.

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
There has been some encouraging movement in the civil lawsuit as a federal judge has ruled against Kim's Ogg's continual refusal to release evidence to the legal team of the two victims. Ruling was announced back in May.

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
The only evidence the victims shot at police has been the story the police are providing. Lawyers for the families dispute that. If you viewed the video done by an independent investigator of the house you'd have some questions about the veracity of Acevedo's PPD investigation and fanciful report.

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
The sickest and saddest thing about this is what instigated it in the first place. I am not at liberty to divulge what I was told. I can only hope it will eventually come out.srothstein wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 9:18 pmI think murder is the right term in this case. A death occurring during the commission of a felony is murder. Deprivation of rights under color of law while using a gun is a felony under federal law (18 USC 242).LDB415 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 8:58 pmI haven't followed this but one question would be was the wife murdered by a policeman outside or was she killed by a policeman outside? IOW, did he know who/where she was when he fired or did he fire and she happened to be in the trajectory? It apparently shouldn't have happened either way but I think it makes some degree of difference based on which way it happened.

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
Thanks, WB. I hope the complete facts and details of this sick murderous plot are revealed in the end. Aceveda is a guilty as the perpetrators in my opinion and the fact that three of the main thugs were allowed to retire is not only ridiculous, but has to be difficult for the Tuttle and Nicholas families to fathom..WildBill wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 2:29 pm There have been a couple of important updates in this case
HOUSTON — Former Houston police officer Steven Bryant pleaded guilty Tuesday to a federal charge of falsifying recordsFormer HPD officer Steven Bryant pleads guilty to federal charge related to botched Harding Street raid
that interfered with a government investigation. The charge is related to the botched Harding Street Raid on January 28, 2019.
Bryant will be sentenced in August.
Attorney Mike Doyle is representing the Nicholas family. Doyle said the family’s independent investigation revealed
Rhogena Nicholas was killed on her couch after she was shot by an HPD officer through the wall.
He also said Tuttle never shot at officers.
Former Officer Felix Gallegos is also charged with murder. He fired the shot that killed Dennis Tuttle, according to court documents.

I'm glad Mike Doyle implicated Lt Marsha Todd, even if he didn't mention her lover Officer Nicole Blankinship-Reeves who in my opinion instigated the whole thing because she was dissed by the occupants of the Harding St home. .

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
The author, Tulsi Kamath, needs to go back to school. Hard to believe she was part of Pulitzer finalist team. I'll bet she can't even spell Pulitzer. Calling LDB415- Hey! LDB, they need a real editor at Channel 2, the one they have has gone awry.“This investigation is peeling back layers of a narcotics-enforcement system gone array,” Ogg said.
On a serious note; I'm still hopeful that the two people who instigated this retaliatory raid and murder of this couple are exposed and appropriate punishment is brought to bear. Hint: Goines didn't dream this up out of the blue.

Re: 5 Officers Shot In Houston - Pray
You are making an assumption, a wrong one in my opinion. The impetus for this started with the Tuttles dissing the lover of a Lt in Narcotics Division.baseballguy2001 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 12:10 pm "But for that call, the information provided, we wouldn't be standing here today," HPD Chief Art Acevedo told reporters. - Sounds like Art has changed his tune a bit. Had the police done an actual investigation, after the call, they would have found the homeowners were 'normal' citizens rather than drug dealers. Instead, the corrupt Narco Squad decided they were guilty before finding any info. Goines supervisors should be punished too, as in, tried along side him for murder. I read some of the previous warrants he created, they are all the same, just a few details changed. As if he created one, the copied and pasted it every time he made out another warrant. If Goines is found guilty in the State and Federal trials, we can only hope his sentences will run consecutively.
