Exactly. I went out and shot 5-10 different guns (all fairly popular including the guns you list except the M&P). I shot better with some and worse with others. It seemed to make the most sense to buy one of the guns that I shot better with from the get-go. It came down to the Glock or a Springfield Armory XD. I shot both back to back to back several times. I shot about the same with both guns, but something about the XD just felt better (I still can't put my finger on it). So I bought an XDM. They make the XD and XDM both in .40. I also really like the browning high power and would probably add that to the list.hheremtp wrote:go out and shoot all 3 of them, after that buy the one that fits you best and you are comfortable with. you can't go wrong with either of them. they are all fine pistols, but the difference is how it fits YOU, not me or any one else.
Regardless of what you buy, I'd try to shoot an example of each and go with what feels best and/or what you shoot best.
One more thing about the XDM. If you get the XDM .40, you can purchase a .357sig barrel and fire those, and you can purchase a 9mm barrel and mag and fire those all out of the same gun.
I think you may be able to do something similar with a Sig, fire both .40 and .357 out of the same gun with different barrels. I'm not sure if there is a comparable option with either of the other two.
