I agree with the consensus, get your family down, get yourself down, draw your weapon, and call 911. If the situation escalates to an imminent threat for you and your family, it'll likely be obvious. I would try to make myself as invisible as possible and pray that the BG goes the opposite way; if he comes my way, my gun is drawn and behind my back until it's necessary to out myself.
