Those who love/hate Glocks do so because they are better/more mature shooters than me who care about weight, balance, and physical design of the gun; never because of reliability. Because I'm a bit of a lousy shot (I'm improving), my top 4 priorities in order are reliability, trigger, concealability, and round capacity; my Mini Thunder 9 fulfills all of 4 of those. I've never owned a Glock, but they impress me because of their reliability, their trigger, their thin design, and light frame that doesn't pull your pants down.

There are, however, some things that I prefer about my Bersa over the Glock 19: 3/4" shorter barrel (huge!), single action trigger option (I just prefer them), much easier takedown. Do you guys have a .380 or bigger caliber? We've got a .380 and a 9 and the 9 did away with that STUPID magazine safety and takedown and reassembly is a dream.

Because I don't base my opinions on just my personal experience or just one other person. Based on personal experience and reviews from all over the web, including this site, Taurus autos are just not up to what most folks would call trustworthy. With that said, if yours is reliable and it shoots straight, don't sell it or let someone tell you to get rid of it. My first car was a 1980 Pinto and was a creampuff.

Oh-And something that I always take note of when reading a review or someones opinion is whether or not that person has fired that weapon; that's why I own Bersas. Those who've fired them give praise, those who've never fired them monologue from a pirate's shoulder, "they suck."

wiredgeorge wrote:I was looking at the Taurus website under their new for 2010 models and saw the 84522SS... essentially a .45 but you can swap the barrel/slide and magazine and make it into a .22 LR. Sounds pretty much perfect as you can practice with inexpensive ammo on a powerful carry gun. Haven't seen this model for sale anywhere yet... just the 845. I think if you have an 845 you can buy a conversion kit or will be able to when it becomes available. Any comments on the 845? There will also be a .40 cal version called the 84022SS I think.
Not keen on Taurus autos. If I were in the market, I would go with a Glock 19, or 26 and buy a conversion kit.
