Re: Working for State Agency
Sorry, can't post it. It's on our intranet site and not on the internet. It can only be accessed from our computers.

Re: Working for State Agency
I just found the policy on the state's intranet. Weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited...etc. The very next sentence reads, "This prohibition does not apply to persons licensed to carry a concealed handgun under Subchapter H, Chapter 411 of the Texas Government Code." I want clarific...

Working for State Agency
I recently started working for the Office of the Attorney General. I couldn't find any info on whether or not it is unlawful to carry here at work. Surprisingly there is absolutely no mention of firearms in the employee handbook. And since the Child Support Division isn't exactly the most beloved ag...

Went to the civic center in McAllen, Tx. for a car show and saw some awesome classic cars as well as this on the front door to the building:

Re: McAllen man killed by pirates on Falcon Lake
This has been all over the local news. Unfortunately for me, I live in McAllen so Falcon Lake is very close to home. This is of course a tragedy but I do not understand why people keep tempting fate like this. Yesterday, my wife called and asked if I knew anything about what was going on at one of t...

Re: Mental Screening for CHL
Does Colton Tooley have a CHL? I'm in the process of writing a nice email to the media who posted this story.

Re: WA: Police shoot 74-year-old pastor
I don't really understand the rationale of wandering outside in the dark when you think there may be an intruder lurking. We buy guns for recreation, but more importantly for self preservation. Why buy a gun to be safer and then walk out into an unknown situation, with an unknown number of subjects ...

Re: 100 MPH Crash Caught on Cruiser Cam
I was chatting back and forth on Youtube with a guy driving one of the cars in the video. He's the one who's seen swerve to the right when the car hits the bridge. The driver of the Firebird was ejected, slides accross the road all the way to the right. The Youtube guy says he stopped mere feet from...

Re: Man shot while stealing rims- Houston
Another one bites the dust, but to kill a man for stealing rims? I live in an area where home invasions are occuring at a rate of about 3 or 4 a month!!! Every single one of the perps who have been caught have simple burglaries on their records to start off their illustrious careers. I say the home...

Re: Why you shouldn't talk to the police
No trial experience? Really? Not as a criminal lawyer , sure but neither does Massad Ayoob, nor John Farnam, nor Gabe Suarez, but all have extensive experience not only in trials about shootings, but as shooters, investigators, "investigatees", researchers and witnesses for both sides. I ...

Re: Carry enough gun. Even at home.
I'm not worried about neighbors knowing about my guns. Again, the norm is to have them. And as for some kid spilling the beans would be like him telling people I have a car in the driveway. Keep in mind that not every neighborhood is going to be like yours. The Rio Grande Valley is made up mostly of...

Re: IFF
If you don't have a viable target in sight and ready to be shot your weapon should not be drawn to avoid placing yourself in the above described scenario. If you have to use your weapon immediately reholster and reconceal when your finished. You want to do this so that the LEOs who respond to the &...
