I also don't carry SOB, though that has become one of my preferred methods when I am not riding. To my way of thinking, the biggest issue is not keeping it concealed, but keeping yourself safe in case of a crash. While I don't use a fanny pack like warhammer, I do believe that a pack is probably the best option for motorcycle carry in the case of an unintended dismount.
