My experience with Galco is the same. They have a VERY tight fit and need some stretching when new. In my experience, once they are stretched, they have an excellent fit and hold up very well to heavy use. I have a Galco for my S&W 629 that I wear when hunting and that I lugged around Alaska for a few years. When I first got it I thought I was going to have to send it back because I thought there was a mistake. I couldn't even snap the retention strap until I had twisted and pulled on it for a few hours. That was years ago and since then it has seen some abuse and very bad weather but it still fits perfect and with a little leather dye I could make it look new.
