Re: While at Church Last Night...

I've always found it odd when a LEO doesn't carry. With all the stuff that they deal with, I would think that they would be acutely aware are of the dangers that are EVERYWHERE and would be more likely to carry all the time. I understand the family thing, but I would politely explain that while I ca...

Re: That infamous 287

Glad to hear the stop went well. I absolutely HATE 287. My first ticket was in Estelline, TX when I was on my way to Amarillo. The courthouse was open for like four hours a day and the court fees were still like $140 with defensive driving. Was it a local LEO or a trooper?

Attempted Kidnapping leads to Grandmother's Death

Did a quick search and didn't see anything, so here's the link. I saw it on local news this morning in Houston. If I remember correctly, this truck stop is a busy place and I'm honestly surprised that no one was there to intervene. (but I understand that a news article doesn't contain everything). T...

Re: Road rage incident with CHL involved

I, at times, have found myself thinking that I'm the only person driving with a pistol handy. Even when playing out scenarios in my head, I would almost always be the only one armed. More and more, though, I've been trying to think (especially in aggressive driving situations) 'the person who just c...

Re: Your Conversion Experience?

We always had guns in the house growing up, and I was given a .22 rifle for Christmas when I was 12 - My dad taught me firearm safety, how to shoot straight and clean up afterwards, but at home the guns were stored under my parents bed with the ammo in the hall closet. The concept of personal defense...

Re: Amusing DPS encounter in Hickory Creek (Denton County)

Sounds like a good encounter to me.

My favorite quote regarding a radar detector came from a preacher, when asked why he would ever need one.
He replied "In case I need to slow down ;-) "

Good First Encounter - Santa Fe PD

I was driving through Santa Fe (Galveston County) on Saturday morning about 6.30am. I was on Highway 6, which is straight for like a gazillion miles - and its very easy to speed if you're not paying attention. I had the 'saw the speed limit change, then saw the squad car, then saw my speedo, then sa...

Re: Kel-Tec P-11 thoughts please

I have one as well, with even with a mag extension it is easily concealable & comfortable to carry at a good price. I've put about 250 rounds through it and never had a problem.

But,As stated above, it is NOT a range gun - after about 50 rounds my wrist gets pretty sore.

I would DEFINITELY buy something that useful, especially with a 1.99 or less price point.

A Blessed Man

My wife and I live alone, so we both keep our handguns on our own nightstands. A Kel-Tec p32 for her, and a CZ82 for me (My Daily carry is a p11). I caught a glance of her nightstand and had to take a picture to show just how blessed I am http://imgur.com/e3HYv.jpg The book is "The Proper Care ...

Re: "Waiting Room"

I guess the problem with your illustration is that an elevator is physically incapable of moving at a faster pace, which is untrue of dps. Moreover, I do not see the problem with exercising one's right to make a polite phone call. Though, it is pretty easy to just get bitter about the whole process...

Oh I see why it's takes so long. They are too bizzy answering the phone. Does the elevator come any quicker pressing the button over and over? I guess some peeps have alot of free time on their hands. I guess the problem with your illustration is that an elevator is physically incapable of moving a...

Re: Cities improperly posting 30.06 signs?

I live in Alvin, TX and they have a piece of paper taped to the entrance to city hall stating basically the same thing as the longview post above. Who in the city should I speak to about this?
