Open Carry License Procedures

I'm probably a little ahead, but what are the procedures for attaining an open carry license. I do already have a CHL. Thanks!

Re: Renewal Question(s)

You do carry every day, don't you? :) As much as I would love to, I can't. I am a public school teacher! Even if it were passed, I doubt I would carry in school - that would not allow me to have the relationship I have with several students that need a positive role model in their lives. Now outsid...

Re: Renewal Question(s)

Well, I called Monday several times and was put on permahold. I decided to email them later with the idea that they may respond that way - They didn't. Called Tuesday - BUSY and again Wednesday. This morning at 7:59 I called and actually got through. The lady said, that they had my application, rece...

Re: Renewal Question(s)

No CHL-100 for a renewal if you are not expired. The system has not been re-programmed yet. It still thinks you need one and puts it on the checklist. The DPS folks know you don't. No photo for a renewal or a new application as long as you have a valid TX drivers license. They will use the DL photo...

Re: Renewal Question(s)

I completed my application online before the law changed. Due to that, the one individual said that since I started the process before the law changed I must complete the renewal class - he was also pushing his $70 renewal class pretty hard. Two other gentlemen basically told me to call and find out...

Renewal Question(s)

I did a quick look and didnt find this in the FAQ areas and renewal section of the post Sept. 1st thread. I know it's here somewhere, but ... I started my application in May (or somewhere around there) and my license expires the end of the first week in Oct. I went to a gunshow today to inquire abou...

Re: Texas City Gun Range - Posting ???

1. This is city owned property so thus it can not be posted. 2. There was no verbal or written warning that I could not carry. 3. Signs do say that guns are to be clear and checked (so does Bass Pro Shop!!) So here is my question: As a CHL Holder should I not have the right to enter the premises co...

Re: Any Plinking Ranges in/around Houston?

It's a ways from Houston, but I've found the Municipal Range in Texas City as a great place to shoot. They only allow target shooting, but they are anal about safety, and a bunch of personable people - very good at helping out and answering questions. I find it very pleasurable and well worth my trip.

Re: 100+ Club

Sorry to be so brief, but this is one club that bellonging to is sort of like being home sick from work - you're not having to work, but you're not really enjoying the day off either. I'd go into details, but that has been done in the April section - you all have a great time I'm :leaving Oh, and to...

Re: April 2009 Applications

As fast as things are clearing out in the "waiting" forums, perhaps they should all be locked and a new thread started for those that are still left.......Wait a minute......I can hear myself echoing in here, here, here, here...... :biggrinjester: I'm still here with you lonewolf. It is g...
