with the motion lights, staying inside and calling 911, et al. In going from the light inside to the dark outside your eyes will take a few seconds/minutes to adjust (pupils opening further). In addition, I concur with not using HPS. I worked in a warehouse that used these and they are definitely slow to warm up.
