My mom (87 yo) would open the door, politely, to anyone. Since another elderly woman in her neighborhood was beaten and robbed in broad daylight in her own home, Mom shouts through the closed door and keeps a 4 oz botle of Fox OC by the door. You can teach an older dog new tricks. Not quite ready for a gun in hand, but 22 yo GS with CHL and C&L Glock 17 lives wth her now.
