Re: Auto Insurance Database
I thought a Texas court (I forget if it was El Paso or somewhere else) ruled that it wasn't valid as PC for a stop due to the lack of certification (much like warrants aren't valid until confirmed).

Re: Don't put empty magazines in your carry on...
Happily, the current Harris County D.A. is one of those who declines to prosecute such 'oops' incidents at airport security here in Houston. Really? I've never really seen or heard anything to indicate one way or another. I know she doesn't like taking charges that aren't a surefire slam dunk, so p...

I am wondering if your personal info so carefully written down will be showing up on the terror watch list. :evil2: I'm wondering if I'll get a nasty-gram from them. Flight back was no issue. 'Course, it's the government, so I'll be added to the terror watch list in about 10-12 years. :bigear: In N...

Re: Not exactly a CHL contact
I was taught over 30 years ago that a commissioned armed security officer could carry "To and From" and while on duty, but that they had to disarm for any stops in the "To and From", including buying gas or coffee or anything else. ...I worked for Wackenhut in 96...we were clear...

Re: Your Experience with CHL and Traffic Stop ...
10 is just a prefix used for radio talk. Commonly you see 10-4 used for ok/good/acknowledge , 10-72 as negative, out here a 10-19 is a fight and 10-25 is meet up some where. 10 codes are not standardized, truckers use one set while your local PD may use another, and the next town over may use yet a...

Re: Got Pulled Over Three Times in Ten Minutes
Ok a question. If your headlight is out and you turn your driving or fog lights on, does that help avoid being stopped? Off the topic and onto one of my major 'rroids for a moment: Your driving lights are your headlights. If I was a LEO, I'd write tickets for anyone driving with their PARKING LIGHT...

Re: Loading weapon in public
The TSA lock should go on the suitcase that holds your gun case, and your non TSA lock should go on the gun case itself. There should be no need for the TSA to open the gun case, because they can see what's in it on x-ray. However, they sometimes do. In my experience, they always ask me for the key...

Re: Show CHL?
I don't understand why some people have problems showing their CHL to an officer and look for legal loopholes to avoid showing it. It is not an infringement of your rights and it makes the officer's job easier And makes your traffic stop easier in general. I'd rather not surprise the officer and ha...

Re: LA: Three New Orleans officers sacked for various foible
New Orleans is a chronically poor city and may not be able to afford such modern cars. The dog may have been bought using some kind of grant. Usually, those same grants for the dogs will cover the expenses to properly outfit the handler and appropriate equipment for the dog, including vehicle envir...

Re: Bersa thunder question
we have easily over 3k rounds through our bersa. other than a dumb leo racking the slide back with the trigger lock turned to SAFE, and doing some damage, i have never had issue with the safety, You mean the ILS? That should prevent the slide from getting anywhere near locking position. What safety...

Re: someone tried to get into my apt.
I know everyone has a way to better secure doors,,one of the simplest is if you replace the short screws that are just in the door frame with long ones,,that will reach the actual stud next to the door frame,,most dead bolts are just in the little piece of door frame left after the hole is cut out,...
