I love the taper of the barrel. I have a 686 pre dash, no lock but its your typical looking 4" revolver. I love S&W's new supported barrel taper deal. Looks mean.

Im glad they kept it interchangable with the XD mags. I love my XDm in 9 and .40 and want to add the .45 to the family but i have 25-28mags for my 2 other XD-45's Its nice to know im still stocked up when i get the XDM45

Mine loves CCI's , its OK with Federal bulk 550 but hates the winchester 333

Joe - you do not need to have your new DL in hand. Just get the address changed before you send in the CHL application. As soon as the change is made in the database, you are good to proceed with the CHL app. When i got my CHL the took my previous DL and issued me a Paper temp... when they did that...
