Just called home and talked to the wife; my CHL came in today's mail!!! Can't complain about the wait!!!
Seadog - We live in The Woodlands, so don't think living in Houston area will slow you up too much!!!

Packet arrived in Austin on 03 August. Checked on-line yesterday and it says Application completed, license issued or certificate active. Not bad, looks like DPS is doing their best to get these applications done on time!!!

My paperwork was also received by DPS on 03 August. Should be interesting to see how long it takes for approval. I held a CCL from 2002-2006 it expired while I was serving at the Embassy in Paraguay 2006-2008. Last time I submitted my paperwork in October and received my license in March. My timing is always perfect; right after 9/11 there seemed to be a bit of a surge in applications. Now I'm dealing with the effects of the Obama regime taking over in D.C.
