I don’t “believe in” crime, but I accept the fact that criminals exist and choose to be prepared for an unpleasant encounter with one.

When I'm around friends or relatives that know I carry I don't put much effort into my concealment when I'm not in public. My girlfriend's father, with whom I hadn't encountered since receiving my plastic, asked me to leave it in the car and that I "didn't need it here". As most here would, I strongly disagree with this policy but it's his house and he has several readily accessible firearms (which confuses me still) so I let it slide.
