Re: Friendly FFL dealers who do transfers...

Guh. Apparently when I set the bookmark for the forums, it was set to the General tab rather than the Board Index...

Sooo I totally missed the bottom section, and pretty much everything else the forums had to offer.

Thanks y'all.

Friendly FFL dealers who do transfers...

It seems that finding a gun shop or FFL dealer who'll help you out with a transfer is getting to be hard to find, at least for me. Gun shops don't really do much marketing out here in Texas, and the most exposure any company gets is from the Gun Shows we have around here, which I don't always make i...

Re: Duncanville Range

Bump. P.S. I recommend this indoor range as well. Range rules are more about common sense and of course, the rules of safety. Rapid fire is allowed when being defined as match rapid fire, so that could be one shot per second. There is also a "no headshots allowed" but depending on who you ...

Re: Question I should have asked in class

In my CHL class, our sheriff instructor told us that while the legal limit is .08, "there is NO legal limit for CHL holders." While this is NOT the law, if you've been drinking at all and your BAC is still under .08, if your firearm is present with you whether on you or in your vehicle, yo...

Re: Living on a Military Base

I lived in base housing growing up (my father is retired AF) and I must say, my memories of living on base were much safer than out in the "real world" to where it's hard for me think about concealed carry as the absolute necessity it is "out here". But hey, I was just a little k...

Re: First dilemma as a CHL holder...

Definitely believe that you are not a bodyguard. These folks have the same rights to protect themselves as we do. If they don't own weapons, they should get them and train with them. They should carry under MPA in their vehicle and on their person in their own home. Next step would be CHL. While I ...

Re: Opinions on carrying .22LR

22lr will do nothing more than iritate a bad guy. Hit them and hit them hard. I concur. To be fair, my CHL instructors did concede that depending on your training and level of skill (this opinion will contradict itself) I do account for the fact that a person with a .22 who knows how to handle it e...

First dilemma as a CHL holder...

The dilemma is short, but let me provide context up front: I recently received my CHL in July, until a week ago I have not (sorry, it has not sunk in as habit yet) been consistently carrying my weapon (check sig for my available carries) and I received a call from a close friend concerning an issue ...

Re: What type of ammo to CHL?

I carry Federal Premium LE Tactical HST in 9mm. I'm guessing it works, if I had a ballistics gel dummy I'd love to find out for sure, but in the meantime it's what I have. LEOs have stricter safety constraints than we do, so I'm only making the assumption that these bullets help bridge that gap betw...

Re: Just got the Plastic today and already have a question

Hi everyone, I'm new to both the forums and CHL. Course was in May, plastic was in July. In regards to the Beretta 96, I own the 92 and this has been a topic of concern for me as well. However, as FlynJay recommended, I must second his assessment that you should practice drawing from your holster wh...
