Personally, I would never display my firearm as a deterrent. Only if I feel that my life is in danger would I do such a thing. Glad it all turned out well for you, though. ;-)

I was pulled over by the Bedford police last week and I gave the officer my CHL as a courtesy before she was told by dispatch that I had a CHL. I could hear on her portable radio that disptach was telling her that I had a CHL, and she already had it in her hand. It seem to please her that I offered ...

I agree with AEA. At home, I always carry, usually in a fanny pack or inner waist holster. Especially when going to answer the door, day or night. Even if you are expecting someone.
