Hi Surprise...
Yes, the wife has good "quality" time with the LCR...we spend time on the range at least a couple times a month, if not more.
With that said, you make a good point...I really like the idea about working out the details around a "team" effort for an unfortunate self-defensive situation. I will have to work something into our practice routine...thanks for the idea

Re: Hello All, from Hutto...
I will have to break out the camera and get a few pictures up
To be honest...I haven't settled on a "primary" carry yet. I have picked up a couple Ruger LCRs...one will be my back-up, the other is for my wife (home defense).
I have been tossing around the idea of a Glock or Sig for my primary carry...either a G26 or Sig P239.
Oh well...I do have some time to figure it out...most likely a few weeks from getting plastic anyhow

Re: Hello All, from Hutto...
Thanks all.
There is certainly no question about it...there is a tremendous amount of information available through the forum. As mentioned, I have been "lurking" and reading for about month or so...and it seems that I find a "nugget" of information almost every day.
In fact...one of the latest items I came across, was a discussion around making your own kydex holsters. I thought that was very intriguing...so, I ordered some kydex on Friday...assembled a few required items (camp foam, clamps, etc.)...with intent to give this activity a whirl.
Just some really cool stuff out here!

Re: Hello All, from Hutto...
Certainly a group of "colorful" folks, there is no doubt. Again, thanks for the warm welcome.
From all the August waiting room posts, it appears a good number of the folks are starting to receive their plastic. Last week, I did send an email to DPS just to check on status and to see if they needed any additional information. The response I received indicated that they were still working through the back-ground check and didn't need any additional information at the moment.
I am correct in assuming that the back-ground check is the most time consuming process? Also, has anyone experienced a change to the online status over the weekends? Just wondering if my many visits per day to check status is really a productive activity.

Hello All, from Hutto...
I have been lurking for the past month or so...and decided to finally take the plunge and join in the fun. I am a member of the "August" group, waiting on DPS to get the plastic to me.
