Yeah, cuz they're sick and tired of complaints from customers going there only to see an employee buy up the whole stock when their online system clearly says that they have it in stock!Dirthawking wrote:Walmart has also changed their system so that you can no longer look online to see who has what.

Re: cabelas or academy 4 ammo?
I have seen walmart employees walk out with the entire stock of ammo. I asked and the guy said that he's selling it to the local gun show. Academy's doesn't allow their employees do this. You are only allowed to buy one tiny 40 ct box of 22lr ammo per day and it's usually gone in 30 min. Plus, they only randomly get ammo one day a week. So you have to stand in line at 8am every day to get one tiny 40 ct box of 22lr per week. I had to stand in line for a month to get enough ammo for the weekend shooting match at DPC. But at least this beats getting nothing at walmart or getting gouged for 5x the price at Cheaper than Dirt ("cheap"?, what a JOKE! I'm never buying from those jokers EVER again!!!)sugar land dave wrote:If you don't mind walmart, this link will search everywhere in the country for stock status.drjoker wrote:Is cabelas fw, allen, or academy's D, better 4 ammo fri a.m. at open? Re: cabelas or academy 4 ammo?
Ya know, that might be my best option. Biz might be slow at that Cabela's because the new one in Allen is open now. The one in Allen is in civilzation but the one in Ft Worth is in the middle of freaking nowhere. Cows literally graze across the street from that Cabela's. I know that they get stock in on certain days and times. Anybody know what is the best day and times to try? I'd hate to drive 2 hours only to find out they've got nothing! I tried calling but nobody is answering the phone....Rex B wrote:I was in Cabelas Ft Worth a couple weekends ago and they had Winchester .22LR at #29.95 per 500 round brick, in the little wooden boxes. Still too high, but they had it. Bought 2
Thanks,

Re: cabelas or academy 4 ammo?
Thanks for the tip, much appreciation. However, I think I'll wait for saner prices. The only reason why I shoot 22lr is because it is cheap and saves money. However, at these prices, I'll just shoot my 9mm. I scored some 9mm from Academy last week for lower price than the 22lr on the keepshooting web page. Again, not complaining because at least you offered me some advice where nobody else had any helpful suggestions at all.
I think I'll buy an air gun from academy to practice with....

Gunbot.net searches a variety of ammo supply websites and publishes the cost per round and wether it is in stock or not
