I felt that students should qualify with a pistol by the standard definition I the word versus a semi automatic machine pistol.
And no he was not planning on carrying the gun

random question about what you can qualify with...
I had a class the other day and I ran into something that I haven't seen before, so I just wanted to toss it out there and see what ya'll think.
Student was about the qualify for the CHL shoot and said he was going to shoot a TEC-9
I understand that you can qualify with any PISTOL 32 auto or above, technically the TEC-9 is classified by the BATF as a pistol...but I still felt it would be unfair to allow so I did not allow the student to qualify with the TEC-9.
What do you think? Did I do the right thing? And if I didn't would you allow a student to qualify with it?
