When I was in the Boy Scouts, our Scoutmaster carried a handgun when we went hiking or camping. All the boys knew it, all the parents knew it. No one cared. We all felt a little safer. At that time you had to jump through hoops to get a license. He did not have one and all the local law enforcement knew he carried only on these occasions and never bothered him.

I don’t think I would have said anything to the guy. The fact he was wearing that badge speaks to his intelligence or lack thereof.

I would not want to be around that guy should anything happen that made him try to exercise the “authority” he may think he has.
