Why yes I do need a Riot Helmet and a Bullet Proof Cup.

That or she saw you walking around the house practicing and busted youseamusTX wrote:Not necessarily. what do you say? Nothing. Keep it in the glove box or not in the open you are as good as gold.s197winstang wrote:On a road trip and decided to carry in the car as is my right. heh they showed that video in my class, I was one of the only ones to "get it"Excaliber wrote:The best answer I've heard is: "Lady, you're in Texas. I think the shirt blowing up thing is overemphasized. It has never happened to me.
The sad thing is, if you see someone open carrying, you assume they're law enforcement. It's almost more calming to see someone open carry.
But with most people, if you have a gun under your shirt, you must have something to hide, ergo you must be a bad guy.
So it seems like the only difference between us and the bad guys is a thin piece of plastic that protects us from going directly to jail if a LEO learns we're concealing.
Just doesn't seem right.
Screams "HE's GOT A GUN!"
I wouldnt know what to say
For a better understanding of why you don't need to worry about being made unless you're doing something pretty unusual, watch this very short video just once while counting the number of times a basketball is passed from one subject to another. Write down your answer so you won't forget it. I'll explain the relevance this evening.

No pratice the draw with a gun loaded with Snap Caps (those inert rounds that wont fire but let you practice dry fire)karl wrote:Congratulations, practice that draw! ...with an unloaded gunNot sure if I'm the only one but I never felt uncomfortable carrying when I first received my CHL.

Which Mall did you go to? Were there any "No Gun Signs" or 30.06 signsRedwing wrote:Well not really my first but my second time carrying. My first time I didn't make it out of my driveway before my 7 year old daughter asked me why I had a gun in my pants. I responded by saying I didn't then ran inside and removed my G19 in a Raven Concealment IWB. Busted by a little kid before I even got started.Apparently, my shirt bunched up behind the pistol's grip leaving it exposed for all to see.
Today I decided to go the mall for first time carrying concealed. Same setup as my first attempt but this time wore the holster OWB with an untucked shirt and jacket covering the weapon. I checked for printing before leaving the house and everything looked good. I get to the mall and start walking around. About 30 minutes pass and I suddenly started to get nervous. Not sure why. I knew no one could tell I was carrying but I just felt anxious and "on guard" the whole time. Almost like when I have my kids out at crowded places. Always on the look out with my head on swivel.
I hope over time I get used to carrying a gun in public places but I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this same uneasiness when they first started carrying.
