In an attempt to not blame this on the attitudes of Texans, do you think the average size of trucks/cars in the two states factors in? Isn't everything bigger (and better) here?
Actually, my experience is that the parking spaces in Texas are considerably larger than those in Ca. It is a continual amazement to me when I park my SUV between a couple of pickups, and still have plenty of room to open doors on both sides. In Ca, I'd be hard pressed to exit the car without having to rest the door against the car beside me. I don't know that EVERYTHING is bigger in Texas, but parking spaces sure are!
