Actually, my experience is that the parking spaces in Texas are considerably larger than those in Ca. It is a continual amazement to me when I park my SUV between a couple of pickups, and still have plenty of room to open doors on both sides. In Ca, I'd be hard pressed to exit the car without having to rest the door against the car beside me.
