If that was really what this was all about wouldn't a drug sniffing dog have been a better search option?

That is no me. I was mikedude. I didn't want it known anymore that I was an LEO as I don't need the drama. It was easier to change names then argue. I NEVER said I supported roadside cavity searches nor am I texasheepdog. I also emailed the moderator to check the IP of texassheepdog as I believe they are a troll, and didn't want people thinking that was me. That was important enough to come out of my covert status.
Way to keep a secret! :headscratch

Two women are suing DPS for performing cavity searches on them on the roadside. Caught on dashcam. Also the women claim the female officer did not change her glove between searches.

Not sure what the fuss is all about. Police can arrest and conduct a cavity search for any reason, on no reason at all according to the SCOTUS. /quote]
Exactly! Now we're getting somewhere...
Yes you are correct but in this case these women were not arrested. The cavity search took place on the side of the road.
And then, like OJ, there's the issue of the glove. (Not to mention the "order" of the exam. )

Not surprised the female got her butt in a sling...trying to find where the male went wrong, but I've only had time to watch it once.

Lack of honor.

Depending on where you (I mean this as the collective you, not gigag) went to school or what jobs you have worked at there is usually a "Honor Code" or similar. Having knowledge of a crime or inappropriate behavior and doing nothing is just as bad as participating.
I heard the official story was she had bad judgement but she followed policy. If that's true, everyone up the chain of command who allowed the policy to exist should get suspended for having even less honor than the male on the scene.
Soooo... Then following policy is bad judgement.

If you watch the video it shows the search, so there is no doubt it happened. The audio is very clear throughout. At the end of the video you can hear one of the women very calmly complaining about her treatment and where the officer put her fingers ---can't really repeat it here. I doubt I could have remained that calm.I know my wife wouldn't have been that calm. I can't honestly say what I'd have done in that situation if they had treated my wife like that.
I agree. This is the most hideous abuse of power I have ever seen. There is NO way I would have tolerated that kind of treatment on the side of the road!

Good thing it didn't happen to me. I would probably still be locked up.
If they even want to SUGGEST doing such a thing to you, they better disarm you first!

Re: DPS performing roadside cavity searches!

I thought the dashcam clip was at the WFAA link I originally posted, but either they removed the clip, or it was never there. The clip can be found here...

It's the third video under the main screen. click on the "next" button to see it

That is just nasty!
The female officer was not wearing the gloves to protect the women -- so replacing the glove was not a priority.
