It truly is... I found myself looking at the clock every 20 to 30 minutes at work waiting to get off so I could get home to check my mailbox. Even though this is the worst feeling. It's the best feeling when you get that letter in the mail and you can feel the plastic inside the envelope.tiger1873 wrote:I am still waiting on the mail for my plastic. I have to agree this is the worst wait of them all.

Welcome G26!G26TR wrote:I've been browsing Texas CHL Forum for the last few months once I started researching Texas CHL. Finally became a member today and look forward to contributing where possible I'm a North Austin area resident and visit both Eagle Peak & Red's Indoor ranges on a fairly frequent basis.
Signature provides my latest & greatest CHL process information thus far. I'm also hoping to be a member of the 30 days or less club soon!!! This is absolutely amazing how processing has significantly sped up for many. Hopefully, the Holidays do not impact processing of my app too much. Looks like I'm about a week behind the latest completed applications!
If everything goes like my app did then you should see you status changed to ( Application Complete )by Tuesday or Wednesday next week. Which, I would think the plastic will be in either Saturday of that week or Monday the following week. Good luck!
That's just what I'm guessing.

Welcome to all the new members. Glad to have you here. I'm pretty new here and from my short time spent here I can tell you that the people here are very informative, courteous, and all around great people. Remember, the only dumb question is the one that isn't asked.

Re: December 2009 Applications
Speaking of holsters. I also received my Crossbreed Supertuck today. This is turning out to be a good week already.rlr wrote:Checked a few minutes ago and got the same news. w00t!!!!!!. Now I really need to get me a CC holster.
This is my first IWB holster so I can't really compare to anything. But, it's plenty comfortable for me and I think It is gonna do it's job just fine.

Re: December 2009 Applications
WOOO HOOO! Just checked my status this morning and it's completed and has been issued!
That was pretty fast I would say. Check my signature for a timeline. Looks good for all the new applicants.

Re: Got the forms sent off to DPS. One question however.
I thought I used just regular ole' mail. I only paid about 5 bucks to send it. Seems like overnight would be at the least 20 to 30 bucks.KingofKaty wrote:Shorty - you need to start a new topic for December 2009.
Were you sending it Express Mail (overnight)? In that case you need to use their envelope. For Priority mail you can use your own envelope. I sent it Priority with a tracking number on Monday and it arrived in Austin on Wednesday.
Thanks for the comment, I revised the title to read December 2009 Apps.

Whew...
I was getting nervous because I know how picky DPS can be. I guess it's not what's on the outside that counts. It's what is on the inside. So, now what should I expect now? I'm assuming the return receipt, then after that I get a PIN Number that will tell me what the status of my application is?

December 2009 Applications
Well, the ball is officially in DPS's court on getting my CHL. I did have something weird go on at the post office though. The lady that took care of me insisted that If I didn't put the brown envelope, that clearly has the send to address printed on the front of it, into one of those Post office sleeves she could not send my forms. So, she ended up having to fold 2 of the edges of the envelope to fit it into the sleeve.
She did make sure nothing was caught where she made the folds at, but will the DPS still accept my forms if they are sent to them in one of these sleeves?
